From March 27 to 31, 2025, the Zhongguancun Forum Annual Meeting dazzled in Beijing. Centered on the theme “New Quality Productivity and Global Tech Collaboration,” the event showcased nearly 100 robots, cutting-edge XR devices, and deep AI applications, painting a futuristic tech landscape.
During their commute to the venue, Yangcheng Evening News reporters encountered speeding robotic dogs and smart reception robots forming a dynamic scene. From robot greeters and tea brewers to calligraphy-writing machines and omnipresent smart devices, the forum delivered not only a feast of cutting-edge technology but also a visceral sense that “the future has arrived.”

Smart Robots Steal the Spotlight
Human-Robot Symbiosis: The Future is Here
At this year’s Zhongguancun Forum, smart robots were undoubtedly the stars. Reporters spotted a “commuting” robotic dog drawing crowds en route to the venue, while 1.2-meter-tall T1 reception robots guided guests with warmth. In total, 15 companies deployed nearly 100 robots across the forum, handling roles from hosting and performing to serving, becoming indispensable to the event.
“Compared to previous years, robots now demonstrate significantly improved stability and intelligence,” said Liang Yihan, PR specialist at Beijing Humanoid Robotics. For example, Tiagong robots can sprint at 12 km/h on sand, snow, slopes, and other challenging terrains.
Companies like Leju, Accelerated Evolution, Xingdong Era, Lingbao, Galaxy General, and Boya Gongdao showcased their AI-driven robots. Equipped with neural network deep learning and emotion recognition algorithms, these robots excel in public services and educational companionship. At the central exhibition area, multiple robots rehearsed synchronized group dances, demonstrating advanced multi-robot coordination.
A tea-brewing robot by Beijing Soft Robot Tech also captivated audiences. By decomposing traditional tea art into 108 standardized motions and leveraging motion capture and AI, the robot replicates a master’s skills with 0.5mm precision. One spectator remarked, “This isn’t mere programming—it’s a leap in multi-robot synergy, showcasing both AI progress and the vision of human-robot coexistence.”

Innovations Galore
Tech Powers Sustainability and Development
The forum’s permanent theme, “Innovation and Development,” drew global participants. Highlights included XR glasses by Beijing Naid Display Tech, offering 4Kx4K resolution per eye in a slim design, and upgraded AIGC interactive zones blending culture, tech, and beauty filters to transform photos into videos.
AI also powered real-time multilingual translation and video production, while electronic credentials and smart navigation streamlined the attendee experience. Sustainability efforts included recyclable materials, digital documentation, and electric shuttles.
Rapid Growth in Robotics
Household Adoption Remains Distant
China’s robotics industry now boasts 451,700 enterprises, with industrial robot output hitting 556,000 units in 2024 (+14.2% YoY). Breakthroughs in sensors, controllers, and servo systems continue. However, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics’ Prof. Wang Tianmiao noted challenges in home adoption: “Embodied robots aim to replace humans in dangerous or repetitive tasks, not fully substitute them. Societal and ethical considerations delay household entry.”
Forum organizers remain optimistic, stating that Zhongguancun will keep spotlighting global innovations and shaping the future of intelligent civilization.
