A 1.2 billion yuan robotics base breaks ground in Suzhou, targeting semiconductor AMRs

A 1.2 billion yuan robotics manufacturing base broke ground in Suzhou’s Wuzhong district this month, as Jielo Intelligent Equipment kicked off construction of a headquarters capable of producing 2,000 trackless navigation robots and 500 wafer smart storage systems per year.

The project spans 42.5 mu, roughly 28,000 square metres, with a total investment of 1.2 billion yuan. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate 2.5 billion yuan in annual output.

Serving seven in ten top chipmakers

Jielo Intelligent, founded in 2020 and rooted in Wuzhong, is a nationally recognised specialist SME in semiconductor smart equipment. It serves 70 per cent of the world’s top semiconductor companies and has achieved scale deployment at multiple Chinese wafer fabrication and advanced packaging plants.

The company’s AMR (autonomous mobile robot) solutions have delivered measurable results in wafer fabrication facilities: a single shift’s manual labour reduced by 86.7 per cent, daily transport efficiency tripled per robot, cross-workshop transport efficiency up 75 per cent, and production cycle time cut by 15 per cent. Wafer damage rates dropped to zero, core product yield hit 99.5 per cent, and the company recorded 1,200 accident-free production days.

Market tailwinds

According to WSTS, the global semiconductor market is projected to reach $1.5 trillion in 2026, up roughly 90 per cent year on year. As manufacturing processes grow more precise, demand for dedicated semiconductor robots, with high cleanliness ratings and precision handling, continues to climb.

YHResearch data shows the global semiconductor robot market reached 11.56 billion yuan in 2024, with a projected 17.04 billion yuan by 2031, a 6.0 per cent compound annual growth rate.

Investors and growth

Jielo has attracted backing from Hefei Jian Investment Capital, Shenzhen Capital Group, Huixin Investment, Saif Partners, Zihe Capital and Wuzhong Financial Holdings. In 2025, sales doubled year on year with net profit between 45 million and 50 million yuan. Orders on hand for 2026 have already exceeded 1.5 times the total for 2025.
