Xiaomi’s next-generation humanoid robot has leaked via the National Business Daily: about 1.70 metres tall, 66 kilograms, with 66 degrees of freedom, half of them in the hands. The machine is set for its first public showing at the 2026 World Robot Conference, which opens on 19 August, before travelling to Europe.
Lei Jun has said the robot “interned” in Xiaomi’s car factory for four months with results: at a self-tapping nut station, two-sided operation success rose from 90.2 per cent to 98 per cent, while centre-console cover fitting and crate folding both reached 90 per cent. It is the first time the robot handled long-duration flexible-parts work.
Xiaomi started its humanoid programme internally in 2020, first shipping the CyberDog quadruped to build know-how, then the CyberOne full-size humanoid in August 2022 as a tech-demonstrator that was never mass produced. The team has since iterated hardware and control algorithms, upgrading dexterous hands and balance.
President Lu Weibing framed the strategy plainly: Xiaomi will not build robots on their own, but fold them into its “human, car, home” ecosystem across smart factories, mobility and the household.
