DataSmart, a humanoid foundation-model company, has closed a nearly 500 million yuan Angel++ round from listed-industry players and top financial investors. It is the sixth round the company has raised since its founding just half a year ago.

Prior backers include whole-machine makers AgiBot, Leju Robot and Star Era, plus Yuanhe Holdings, Fosun RuiZheng, China Media Capital and Lenovo Capital, with capital from the auto and semiconductor sectors. The new funds go to iterating the humanoid base model, mass-producing self-developed data-collection gear, building the data loop, and expanding the core research team.

Founded in January 2026, DataSmart builds a native general humanoid foundation model. Its critique of the field: most embodied models rest on flat two-dimensional vision and misjudge depth, so a robot at a door cannot tell how far the handle is. DataSmart swaps the representation from the ground up with a native three-dimensional world engine that handles point clouds and gaussian splats directly, and runs a three-layer brain, cerebellum and force-position hybrid architecture. The brain learns almost entirely from real-machine data; the cerebellum turns sparse commands into motor signals at tens to hundreds of hertz.

The missing piece was data. DataSmart launched the Delta D1 head-mounted rig, which records first-person panoramic vision and whole-body joint trajectories as the wearer works normally, no robot body or motion-capture studio required, with global positioning accurate to within 2 centimetres. It has opened the collection system to the industry and, with the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, released an industrial dataset 2.0 gathered by workers wearing Delta D1 on live lines without stopping production. Models trained this way already run grid inspection, auto-parts handling and electronics sorting, with adaptation to bodies from Unitree and AgiBot.
The competition in embodied intelligence is moving from motion demos to physical work. What decides if a humanoid truly performs is its grasp of three-dimensional space and the reliability of coordinating dozens of joints. After six rounds in six months, DataSmart is laying the whole-body intelligence base under general humanoids.
