Black Sesame Technologies has delivered the first batch of its Aura Devkit to collaborative robot maker AUBO, the two companies said, deepening a tie that now spans project bids, joint research and commercial supply.
A car chip moves into the robot
The Aura module is a core part of Black Sesame’s SesameX multi-dimensional embodied-AI compute platform. It carries 70 TOPS of heterogeneous compute and supports multimodal synchronous sensing with millisecond-level real-time motion control, built for complex jobs on multi-legged robots and collaborative arms where perception, decision and motion must run together.
Black Sesame is extending its automotive-grade AI compute into robotics. The SesameX platform spans a gradient from 16 TOPS to 700 TOPS across three module families: Kalos for commercial service robots at up to 48 TOPS, Aura for collaborative and multi-legged robots, and Liora at up to 700 TOPS for humanoids and multi-robot systems with world-model and end-to-end control.
What the partnership covers
Beyond the devkit, the two will co-develop along the perception-decision-control chain, tackling high real-time, low-power edge computing and scene adaptation. AUBO also joined a consortium with Black Sesame and Tsinghua University to bid for a state manufacturing-chain programme, with a dual-arm collaborative robot for consumer-electronics assembly as the flagship product.
AUBO builds modular, open human-robot collaborative robots and is folding industrial internet, big data and embodied-AI fronts into globally aimed products. For Black Sesame, the deal is a proof point that car-grade compute can become the brain inside factory robots.
