Two rounds, one focus: the places humans hate to enter
Hangzhou Guoxun Robotics has closed two funding rounds in roughly six months totalling tens of millions of yuan, with Jiuzhao Investment, Yueke Finance Group and Liang Venture investing. Yueke Finance Group is Guangdong’s largest state-owned professional mother-fund platform, and its backing signals strong capital confidence in the team.
Guoxun was already backed by Zhonghai, Daosheng, Shuimu, Shanda and Yunzhou before this round. Founded in August 2021, it focuses on industrial smart-safety inspection and smart-safety operation, and carries both Chinese Academy of Sciences technical heritage and state-capital backing.
The company was early to ship multifunction inspection robots for complex, harsh scenes: thermal-power coal corridors and cooling towers, wind nacelles, chemical coking furnaces, outdoor coal-transport corridors and LNG receiving stations. It also pioneered a compound machine-vision technique that keeps lifting detection precision and recognition efficiency.
A broad and rugged product line
Its harsh-scene range covers pipe-gallery, standard corridor, explosion-proof rail, coal-mine rail and outdoor belt inspection robots, plus wind-nacelle units. Conventional inspection covers standard, wheeled and quadruped units, and it also builds power-switching operation robots and explosion-proof belt-tear detectors.
The rail robots handle steep climbs, tight continuous turns, V and W bends and inner or outer curves, and keep running through dense dust, high heat, humidity, extreme cold and strong magnetism. Its coal-mine rail robot holds China’s first inspection-robot coal-safety licence, and its thermal-power rail unit leads the field on shipments.
Guoxun serves the largest state-owned energy and heavy-industry names: China Energy, Huaneng, Huadian, SPIC, Baowu Steel, Shaanxi Coal, Shandong Energy and CRRC. At one China Energy thermal project, a ceiling rail robot sweeps the full corridor every two hours, unattended, around the clock. At a northwest coal-chemical plant, an explosion-proof rail robot monitors temperature, vibration, gas and dust at the same two-hour cadence, filling the night-shift gap.
Smart inspection is replacing manual checks because the alternative is unsafe. Zhiyan Consulting estimates China’s smart inspection robot demand at 7,738 units and 2.75 billion yuan in 2025, rising to 9,722 units and over 3.1 billion yuan in 2026.
