Shenzhen-based AI Squared Robotics has placed its AlphaBot 2 general-purpose robot inside Hong Kong’s first international embodied-intelligence application training ground, opened on 15 October by the city’s Productivity Council through its FLAIR research centre. The company was among seven inaugural partners, alongside Unitree and AgiBot.

The facility is built around real overseas deployment environments. It runs a continuous loop of scenario definition, model training, solution testing, performance assessment and data feedback, giving embodied-intelligence systems a structured path from lab validation to scaled deployment.
AI Squared Robotics follows a model times hardware times scenario strategy and treats brain-inspired architecture as its core technical direction. It keeps iterating its in-house AlphaBrain embodied large model, borrowing the brain’s layered coordination and learning mechanisms to push robots toward more efficient perception, decision and motion, while cutting reliance on cloud model calls.
AlphaBot 2 already works the bar at Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong, mixing cocktails and interacting with customers. The training-ground placement extends the company’s collaboration with Hong Kong’s innovation system, letting both sides test how robots improve across different working environments and task demands.
For a Shenzhen embodied-intelligence firm, the selection is another concrete example of Shenzhen-Hong Kong science and technology coordination. Shenzhen brings a complete supply chain, an active innovation ecosystem and rich application scenes. Hong Kong brings an international research network, professional services and a direct route to global markets. Standing in Shenzhen while linking with Hong Kong, AI Squared Robotics can use the two cities’ complementary strengths to speed the cross-border transfer and industrialisation of its technology.
