Geely Galaxy Warship 700 launches with 1,129 hp hybrid and 1,770 km range

Geely has launched its first new-energy hardcore SUV under the Galaxy brand, and the spec sheet reads like a direct answer to the wave of rugged electric 4x4s reaching Europe.

A ladder frame under a family SUV

The Warship 700 arrived in Hangzhou on 10 October with three powertrains across six trims, at a limited-time launch price from 169,800 yuan. Its GTA native hardcore architecture embeds an integrated ladder frame into the body, lifting structural strength more than 30 per cent over a conventional frame and pushing torsional rigidity above 44,000 newton-metres per degree. The chassis pairs air suspension, continuously variable damping and an AI pre-scan magic carpet. Geely quotes an 80 km/h moose-test result on road and 72.1 km/h on sand.

Three motors and a 1,129 horsepower hybrid

The Leishen EM-T hybrid system uses a three-motor all-wheel-drive layout rated at 1,129 horsepower, with the 2.0T top trim reaching 100 km/h in 3.95 seconds. Off-road, the three motors decouple to build a lock system of two smart soft locks and one mechanical hard lock, enabling millisecond slip control and four-wheel torque distribution. The rear mechanical differential lock engages in 200 milliseconds and amplifies single-wheel torque to 9,000 newton-metres. Geely says the car climbed the Badain Jaran sand slopes fully loaded with five passengers from a standstill and without a run-up.

Battery and charging: every trim carries a 47 kWh pack with CATL cells and peak 6C charging. Geely cites a combined range up to 1,770 km and a minimum depleted fuel use of 5 litres per 100 km, with a 10 per cent to 70 per cent charge in as little as 8 minutes 25 seconds. Cabin space utilisation is quoted at 80.3 per cent, with a 1.8 metre flat rest area and a 1,050 litre boot.

Smart features reach off-road

The intelligent suite spans city driving and rough terrain. An AI all-terrain mode reads the surface and switches modes, while a one-click smart climb drops the car into low-speed four-wheel drive. In town, the car uses the Qianli Haohan H7 driving package and an Eva cabin assistant for route planning and parking. Safety centres on a six-by-seven-by-eight cage structure with a 10.6 metre hidden roll cage and a 161 kN roof-load capacity, and Geely demonstrated a deep-water floating escape and opened that patent for free.

The launch price runs through 31 October and includes a 6,000 yuan purchase-tax cash grant, a 4,000 yuan insurance grant and a 10,000 yuan trade-in subsidy. Singer and actor Nicholas Tse appeared as the global brand ambassador. For Geely, the Warship 700 is a bet that hardcore SUV buyers want both genuine off-road hardware and the daily comfort and efficiency of an electric drivetrain.
