On 9 September, at the Agglomeration Intelligent Industry Development Conference 2026, Jin Bing, former first-level inspector and deputy director of the policy and law department at the State Post Bureau, said embodied intelligence is entering an accelerated mass-production phase. Citing the latest data, he said China’s share of global humanoid-robot exports and manufacturing has reached 97 per cent.
Jin argued China’s edge rests on whole-machine mass production, a full supply chain and scenario-validation ability. ‘Because we have massive data, our embodied robots, drones and unmanned vehicles iterate faster than anywhere, and our mass-production speed is the fastest,’ he said.
In 2025 global general humanoid shipments reached about 18,000 units, up 508 per cent year on year. China’s domestic humanoid shipments in 2026 are expected at 62,500 units. Five Chinese firms, Unitree, AgiBot, Leju, Accelerate and UBTECH, together account for 74 per cent of global whole-machine shipments.
On timing, Jin judged 2025 to 2026 as the ‘first year of mass production’ and 2027 to 2028 as the scale-penetration phase. Industrial manufacturing remains the main landing scenario, while logistics, public inspection, medical care and commercial services are entering batch validation.
Gaps remain. Jin noted shortfalls in high-end RV reducers, tactile electronic skin, high-sensitivity force sensors, embodied compute chips and the underlying simulation ecosystem. The next phase, he said, extends beyond single robots to fusion with cars, unmanned vehicles, drones and unmanned ships, forming coordination across models, positioning, hardware modules and task scheduling. China’s path, he summed up, is ‘scenarios for technology, mass production for cost, systems for single points’.
