Moxin Tech, led by a Zhejiang University student born in 2000, nears a 1 billion yuan round

Moxin Tech, a four-dimensional world-model start-up founded by a Zhejiang University doctoral student born in 2000, is about to close a new financing round of around 1 billion yuan that would lift its valuation to nearly 10 billion yuan. It would be the firm’s fifth raise this year and its second in a month, after an earlier round left it valued at about 4 billion.

Founder and chief executive Chen Tianrun, a 2022-entry Zhejiang University PhD student under academician Pan Yunhe and a peer in the same lineage as DeepSeek’s Liang Wenfeng, studies three-dimensional vision, spatial intelligence and world-model algorithms, with more than 50 papers in Science, Nature Photonics, ICCV and CVPR. Moxin began in 2021 building consumer 3D-printing hardware before pivoting to spatial intelligence at the end of 2024.

Its MoWorld model carries 28 billion parameters on a mixture-of-experts design and renders at 50 frames per second with six-degree-of-freedom camera control and clips up to 2,000 frames, all on domestic Ascend NPUs, a stack the company says cuts inference cost to 30 per cent to 50 per cent of an equivalent GPU build. Backers span Shenzhen Capital, Zhejiang Capital, Huawei Hubble and Legend Holdings. Moxin pitches the model as training infrastructure for humanoid robots and autonomous driving, building virtual factories and homes where machines rehearse at high frequency.
