XTRON closes several-tens-of-million-yuan A1 round for hazardous-chemical embodied robots

On 1 September, XTRON Robotics, a specialist in embodied intelligence for hazardous and chemical-process industries, announced a several-tens-of-million-yuan A1 round. The investors include Qianhai Ark, West Lake Sci-tech Venture and components maker Guangyang Co. The proceeds will go into the XBOT-AEGIS embodied-intelligence system, the development of multi-form explosion-proof robots, and expansion at home and abroad.

XTRON was founded in December 2022 and focuses on oil-and-gas extraction, chemical production and nuclear maintenance. Its founding team comes from the Harbin Institute of Technology, with technical backing from the HIT Robot Research Institute and the Fujian (Quanzhou) Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Institute. Founder and CEO Fu Zhe spent a decade in industry and holds dual bachelor degrees from HIT and the University of Birmingham and dual master degrees from the University of Sheffield and Imperial College London.

The company built the XBOT-AEGIS architecture with a three-layer, decoupled design: a top layer for task understanding and decision making, a middle layer for motion planning and simulation, and a bottom safety layer that can intercept an abnormal command from a large model within milliseconds. That balances the slow thinking of the decision layer with the fast response of the control layer.

On the model side, XTRON is collecting live operational data from deployed units, building an internal simulation platform to supplement real samples, and running a VLA execution model while testing on the open-source JEPA world model as a step toward its own foundation model. Its planned product family spans inspection, operation and air-ground coordination, including explosion-proof wheeled and rail-mounted robots, combined inspection-operation units, air-ground robots and biped-wheel machines.

Since 2025, XTRON has delivered multiple units to lead customers such as CNPC and Wanhua Chemical, running stably on site. Overseas, it runs a twin track of state-owned-enterprise coordination and overseas distribution, with project orders from South Sudan and Malaysia. Its funding cadence has been fast: a several-tens-of-million-yuan Pre-A from Oriental Fortune in August 2025, a Pre-A+ in February 2026, and now this A1 only half a year later, with Qianhai Ark and West Lake Sci-tech Venture doubling down and Guangyang entering as a new industrial backer.

The hazardous-process lane carries high safety barriers, rigid demand for labour replacement and strong payer willingness. Compared with general-purpose humanoids, XTRON has built deeper moats in explosion-proof compliance, industry know-how and customer trust. Rapid, repeated financing and industrial endorsement signal market confidence in its technical route and commercial loop, though long order cycles and high customisation will test its ability to scale without sacrificing delivery quality.
