Critical Point, the dexterous-hand maker spun out of AgiBot, has closed a new round of nearly 1 billion yuan, pushing its post-money valuation above $1 billion. From founding to unicorn took just five months and four rounds. The company says OmniHand-series hands have shipped more than 8,000 units and grippers over 10,000, making it the domestic shipment leader in the first quarter of 2026, and it posted an operating profit in its first full quarter.

The speed rests on its AgiBot lineage. Critical Point inherited the hand technology, supply chain and manufacturing process that AgiBot validated across tens of thousands of units and 1 billion yuan in revenue, so it was born with real customers and mass-production discipline. Its flagship OmniHand 3 Ultra-M measures 189.5 by 88.5 by 40 millimetres, weighs 630 grams and carries 20 active degrees of freedom on a fully direct-drive architecture, with micro visuo-tactile sensors at each fingertip and more than 300 three-dimensional touch points on the palm at 0.005 newton force resolution.
The open question is whether Critical Point can become the industry’s hand supplier rather than AgiBot’s hand department. AgiBot holds 80 per cent and is also the largest customer, a double binding that becomes a double constraint as the market matures. Rivals Unitree, UBTECH and Leju are building their own hands in house. The domestic dexterous-hand sector drew close to 5 billion yuan in financing in the first quarter of 2026, 70 per cent above the whole of 2025, and a new four has formed: Yinshi on shipments, Lingxin on a valuation ceiling at a 6 billion dollar target, Strong Brain on bionics, and Critical Point on speed.
Critical Point’s moat is the closed loop of production stability, a data flywheel and algorithm assets, aimed at keeping the 80,000th unit as consistent as the first. Whether that loop survives leaving the AgiBot system is the variable that decides if five months of speed becomes a lasting wall.
