On 18 August, the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government and China Telecom Corporation signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement. Shenzhen Party secretary Jin Lei and deputy secretary and mayor Qin Weizhong met China Telecom chairman Ke Ruiwen and general manager Liu Guiqing and jointly witnessed the signing.
Jin and Qin thanked China Telecom for its active participation and strong support in Shenzhen’s development, saying the city is implementing the central leadership’s decisions, pushing for a strong start to its 15th five-year plan, with the economy holding steady and turning toward higher quality. They expressed hope for high-level cooperation with China Telecom in computing infrastructure, communications networks, the low-altitude economy and quantum technology, to open a new chapter of win-win development.
Ke Ruiwen and Liu Guiqing thanked Shenzhen for its support, noting the deep foundation and rich results of the partnership, and pledged to accelerate implementation of the agreement and increase investment and footprint in Shenzhen to support high-quality development.
Under the agreement, the two sides will pursue deep cooperation in new infrastructure, artificial intelligence, satellite communications and city digital governance. At the same event, Shenzhen Airport Group and China Telecom’s investment arm also signed a memorandum of cooperation.
