Standard Robots, founded by Harbin Institute of Technology alumni, filed its prospectus to the Hong Kong exchange for a third time on 27 July, chasing a main-board listing through the 18C channel for pre-profit specialist-tech firms. Two earlier filings, in June 2025 and January 2026, lapsed when review windows closed. The refiling came days after the firm, with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Guangzhou, won the logistics-sorting track at ICRA 2026 and topped the global ranking.
Founded in 2016, Standard Robots has spent a decade in industrial autonomous mobile robots and calls itself a leader in industrial embodied-intelligence solutions. The founding team shares HIT roots: chief executive Wang Yongkun studied at the university’s control-engineering school, and chief technology officer Li Hongxiang and chief operating officer Wang Jinpeng are his alumni. Per CIC, the firm is China’s fourth-largest industrial mobile-robot solution provider by volume, with a 4.0 per cent share, and ranks second globally in both 3C and automotive at 4.1 per cent, and fifth in semiconductors at 0.9 per cent.
Capital and scale
The track record drew Xiaomi Industrial Investment, NIO Capital, Source Code Capital and others across multiple rounds, and the pre-IPO valuation reached 2.1 billion yuan. The prospectus says proceeds will fund R&D on the core platform, the RoboVerse system and proprietary tech, build out sales and service networks at home and abroad, and add production lines. In the first half of 2026 the firm shipped over 1,800 robots, a concrete number behind the listing story.
The HIT gene is the through-line: a founder who competed in robotics as a student, a team that stayed together, and a decade of iteration that turned a campus contest into a global supply-chain position. The Hong Kong filing is the latest attempt to convert that position into public capital.
