Shenzhen Bojiang Robot, a local construction-robotics developer, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with a leading Hong Kong smart-construction company, which will procure building robots, intelligent equipment and related technical services worth no less than RMB 200 million. The deal moves Bojiang from pilot use in Hong Kong to scaled deployment.

Before the agreement, Bojiang had already landed more than 20 projects in Hong Kong across public housing, private residences, commercial and industrial buildings. As a core player in Chinese construction robotics, it focuses on full-stack in-house R&D and lifecycle service, holding more than 1,200 invention patents and building solutions around embodied-intelligence technology.

A full-process robot line-up
In March 2026 Bojiang launched five embodied construction-robot series covering concrete work, precision surveying, coating, flooring and high-rise exterior jobs. The concrete series levels and polishes with a flatness of plus or minus 5 mm at up to 300 square metres per hour, saving two to three workers and cutting standard-floor cost by 28 per cent. The measuring robot hits plus or minus 1 mm accuracy in two minutes per room, saving 70 per cent on cost. Painting robots reach 6.5 m height at up to six times human speed with over 90 per cent coverage.

Flooring robots run at 1.5 times human speed; coating robots cover 3.8 m width at 300 square metres per hour, cutting project cost by over 30 per cent. Exterior robots handle 100 m facades at 180 square metres per hour and clean 200 m curtain walls at 350 square metres per hour, removing people from high-risk work.

Scale and policy tailwind
Bojiang claims the top market share in construction robotics, with business in 15 countries and regions. It has completed over 5,400 robot deployments across more than 1,600 projects and 50 million square metres of constructed area. The 2026 State Council work report named smart construction a core direction for the industry’s upgrade, and planning documents from the 14th Five-Year period call for accelerated building-robot R&D. One forecast puts the global construction-robot market at a 11 per cent compound annual growth rate, reaching US$620 million by 2029.

Traditional building suffers from crude methods, labour shortages and slow transformation. Construction robots can take over dangerous, repetitive, high-intensity tasks, and a RMB 200 million Hong Kong order suggests the model is moving from demo to procurement.
