Last Friday, Standard Robots and a team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) won the logistics-sorting world title at ICRA 2026, the second global dual-arm robot skills challenge. Days later, on 27 July, the firm filed its third Hong Kong prospectus through the 18C pre-revenue specialist-tech channel, after two earlier applications lapsed on timing.
Founded in 2016, Standard Robots builds industrial intelligent mobile robots and is an early mover in industrial embodied intelligence. The team carries a strong Harbin Institute of Technology lineage: founder Wang Yongkun, CTO Li Hongxiang and COO Wang Jinpeng are all HIT alumni.
By CIC data, in 2025 the firm was China’s fourth-largest industrial mobile-robot provider by shipment volume at a 4.0 per cent share, ranked second worldwide in both 3C and automotive at 4.1 per cent, and fifth in semiconductors at 0.9 per cent. Backers include Xiaomi Industrial Investment, NIO Capital, Liangxi Fund, CICCI, Source Code Capital, Qiji Creative and GuoKe Jiache.
Its pre-IPO round valued the company at RMB 2.1 billion. The prospectus says proceeds will fund core robot platforms and the RoboVerse system, build out domestic and overseas sales and service networks, and add production lines and working capital.
