On 16 September, UBTECH founder, chairman and chief executive Zhou Jian announced that the company’s U1 series of hyper-realistic humanoids has begun delivery. The first batch goes to Shanghai Yongda Group, Beijing Bosch Group and Korea’s Galaxy Robot Park.

The U1 line launched on 30 June in three versions: U1 Lite at 119,800 yuan, U1 Pro at 169,800 yuan, and U1 Ultra at 990,000 yuan for the male version and 880,000 yuan for the female version. The robots use true-to-life proportions, 88 degrees of freedom, bionic skin and a bionic neck, plus an emotion model that the company says recognises more than 20 fine-grained emotions and covers 90 per cent of basic human actions.
Since the 30 June launch, omnichannel orders have passed 13,000 units, and delivery marks the step from concept launch to scaled deployment. U1 World has already entered the Galaxy Park in Seoul’s Gangdong district, a roughly 5,000-pyeong immersive complex blending AI and robotics, the first time a Chinese bionic humanoid has entered Korea’s entertainment-technology ecosystem.
Bosch Group signed a strategic cooperation in mid-July as UBTECH’s first authorised partner in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Under the deal it will sell the U1 through Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai and other brand dealerships, building a loop of research, channel, scenario and service. Beijing’s Bosch Ruida Mercedes-Benz dealership already opened what it calls the world’s first dual-4S fusion robot experience store, Mechanical Eden, and U1 units will roll out across Bosch locations.
