XTRONROBOT closes a Series A1 to send robots into hazardous plants

On 1 September XTRONROBOT, or Xuanchuang Robotics, closed a Series A1 worth tens of millions of yuan. The round drew Qianhai Ark, Xihu Technology Innovation and Guangyang Shares, and the proceeds will fund the XBOT-AEGIS embodied-intelligence system, a range of special-purpose robots and expansion at home and abroad.

Founded in December 2022, the firm targets special-hazard process industries: oil and gas extraction, chemical production and nuclear-power maintenance. Its team comes out of the Harbin Institute of Technology, and chief executive Fu Zhe spent a decade in industry and manufacturing.

Its XBOT-AEGIS architecture uses a three-layer, decoupled design. The top layer handles task understanding and decisions, the middle layer plans and rehearses actions, and the bottom layer is a safety net that can block an abnormal instruction from a language model within milliseconds, balancing the model’s slow thinking against the plant’s need for fast response.

On training, Xuanchuang pulls field data from deployed machines and customer logs, builds an internal simulation platform to pad real samples, and runs a VLA execution model alongside tests on the open-source JEPA world model to ground its own foundation model later.

On that base it plans a line of standard explosion-proof robots: wheeled and rail-mounted patrol units, combined patrol-and-operate machines, air-ground units and bipedal-wheeled units. Since 2025 it has delivered multiple units to blue-chip customers including China National Petroleum and Wanhua Chemical, and won overseas orders in South Sudan and Malaysia through state-owned partners and local distributors.

The funding came fast. Xuanchuang took a tens-of-millions yuan Pre-A from Oriental Fortune in August 2025 and a Pre-A+ in February 2026, with the A1 round following only half a year later, with Qianhai Ark and Xihu reinvesting and industrial investor Guangyang joining.

The thesis is that hazardous-process industry is hard but right: high safety barriers, rigid demand for labour substitution and customers who pay. Against general humanoids, Xuanchuang has built deeper walls in compliance, industry know-how and trust. Rapid, repeated funding and industrial backing signal confidence in both its tech route and its commercial loop, though long order cycles and heavy customisation will test how it scales without losing delivery quality.
