LimX Dynamics, a Shenzhen-based general-purpose humanoid robot maker, has closed a near-$200m pre-IPO round that lifts its post-money valuation to 15 billion yuan (about $2.1bn), pushing it into the ranks of China’s super unicorns.
The round drew top-tier global capital from China, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia. New investors include IDG Capital, Lens Technology, G.G.G. Group, Redstone VC, Huashan Capital and Hefei Binhu Industrial Development Group. Returning backers such as Nio Capital and Oasis Capital increased their stakes, with UAE’s Stone Venture following on across multiple rounds.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Shenzhen, LimX builds full-size humanoids alongside its modular robot line, TRON. It works across three pillars: hardware design and manufacturing, brain-and-body fusion, and a robotics operating system that extends general intelligence into the physical world.
The proceeds will fund three priorities: breaking through brain-body fusion and accelerating productisation, scaling deployment of thousands of autonomous humanoids, and deepening its global market push across the Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Technically, LimX runs a full-stack architecture. System 0 is a whole-body motion foundation model for stable, precise movement. System 1 covers VLA and WAM capabilities and includes FluxVLA Engine, an open-source enterprise training platform aimed at lowering the cost of building on its stack. System 2 is COSA, a world-model-driven embodied-agent operating system handling cognition and interaction.
Commercially, LimX has taken thousands of orders across its product lines, more than half from overseas, spanning research, commercial service, all-terrain inspection, industry and construction. Its full-size interactive humanoid Luna, launched in May, began overseas and domestic deliveries within a month, while the newer modular TRON 2 has drawn heavy order interest since launch.
