XTRON Robotics closes several-tens-of-million-yuan A1 round for hazardous-industry embodied AI

On 1 September, XTRON Robotics (XTRONROBOT), which focuses on special-industrial embodied intelligence, announced a several-tens-of-million-yuan Series A1 round. Investors include Qianhai Ark, Westlake Sci-tech Innovation Fund and Guangyang Co. The proceeds will go mainly to iterating the XBOT-AEGIS embodied-intelligence system, developing multi-form special-purpose embodied robots, and expanding domestic and overseas markets.

XTRON was formally founded in December 2022 and concentrates on special and hazardous process industries such as oil and gas extraction, chemical production and nuclear-power maintenance. The founding team comes from Harbin Institute of Technology, with technical backing from the HIT Robotics Institute and the Fujian (Quanzhou) Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Institute. Founder and CEO Fu Zhe has a decade in industry and manufacturing, with dual bachelor degrees from HIT and the University of Birmingham and dual master degrees from the University of Sheffield and Imperial College London.

The company built the XBOT-AEGIS embodied-intelligence architecture with a matching multi-form explosion-proof hardware chassis. The architecture uses three-layer decoupling: the top layer handles task understanding and decision making, the middle layer does motion planning and simulation, and the bottom layer is a safety redundancy that can intercept an abnormal model command within milliseconds. This balances the “slow thinking” of the decision layer with the “fast response” of the control layer.

On model training, XTRON is pushing three workstreams: collecting live data from deployed units plus customer operation logs; building an internal simulation platform to supplement real samples with virtual data; and deploying a VLA execution model while testing on the open-source JEPA world model as a base for a future self-developed foundation model.

On the XBOT-AEGIS base, XTRON plans a line of standardised explosion-proof embodied robots covering inspection, operation and three-dimensional coordination: explosion-proof wheeled and rail-mounted robots, inspection-plus-operation units, air-ground units and explosion-proof bipedal-wheeled robots.

Since 2025, XTRON products have been delivered and run stably at leading customers including China National Petroleum and Wanhua Chemical. Overseas, it uses a state-owned-enterprise coordinated export plus overseas distributor model and has won project orders in South Sudan and Malaysia.

On financing pace, XTRON took a several-tens-of-million-yuan Pre-A from Oriental Fortune Capital in August 2025, then a Pre-A+ in February 2026 with Qianhai Ark, Hangzhou Runmiao Fund, Westlake Sci-tech Innovation Fund and Futian Guidance Fund. This A1 follows the Pre-A+ by only half a year; Qianhai Ark and Westlake reinvested consecutively, and industrial investor Guangyang joined for the first time.

XTRON has formed a closed loop of “technology validation, benchmark delivery, overseas orders” in hazardous industries, and CNPC’s scaled procurement gives a reference acceptance model for robot commercialisation in high-risk settings.

Market watchers note the hazardous-process niche carries high safety barriers, rigid labour-substitution demand and strong customer paying power, a “hard but right” lane for embodied-AI deployment. Versus general humanoids, XTRON built deeper barriers in explosion-proof compliance, industry know-how and customer trust.

Repeated fast rounds and industrial backing signal capital confidence in the technical route and business loop. But orders in this field are long-cycle and highly customised; balancing delivery quality with standardisation at scale is the next test.
