Lei Feng Network has learned that Canchen Tech has completed a seed, angel, angel-plus and angel-plus-plus series of financings, totalling tens of millions of yuan. Investors include Oriental Fortune Capital, SongHe Capital, Lingyi Ventures, Tsinghua-based Shuimu Capital, TusStar, Qifan Capital and Nanshan Strategic Emerging Industry Investment.
The company focuses on system-level virtual-organ spatiotemporal dynamic evolution models. Its core idea is to build a full-scale dynamic simulation platform from molecule, cell and tissue up to organ, using AI digital twins to replace part of traditional animal testing, serving pre-clinical drug evaluation and early disease screening.
In July 2026, China’s CDE published a draft pilot plan for new approach methodologies, for the first time bringing AI virtual-organ digital twins into the statutory non-clinical evidence system. The US FDA, Europe’s EMA and the UK’s MHRA had already given green lights. The shifting regulatory environment gives the virtual-organ route a commercial premise.
An investor representative told Lei Feng Network that Canchen’s edge is not only its next-generation virtual-organ simulation, but more importantly a closed loop linking simulation, wet-lab experiments and pre-clinical validation. Using a cross-scale dynamic-organ digital-twin system, the company runs scaled simulations for developmental-toxicity assessment and neurological-disease mechanisms. Risk predictions from simulation are continuously cross-validated by in-vivo models and partner hospitals, showing large translational potential.
In the investor’s view, this means Canchen’s platform has initially run the “design, experiment, data-feedback” validation loop, rather than staying at the theoretical level.
Canchen splits its technology into three layers. The base is a multi-omics life foundation model. The middle layer is digital twins of core organs such as brain, gut and liver. The top layer is multi-organ coordination and whole-lifecycle reasoning. The architecture does not pile parameters, it piles causality, modelling with dynamical systems and biological constraints. It can answer not only “what” but also “what if”.
On research, the core team has worked for years in organ spatiotemporal simulation, first completing a full-cycle three-dimensional dynamic model of a mammal embryo, and building several globally first-in-class evolution simulations, with key results published in the journal Cell.
On industry-academia links, Canchen has built several first-in-China collaborations: a dedicated virtual-organ training-data platform, a southwest national smart-compute centre, a joint AI multi-omics life-simulation research platform with BGI’s Sanya institute, and the country’s first AI virtual-organ clinical-validation scene with several top-tier hospitals. That targets intelligent early screening of neonatal developmental disease.
