Kinetix AI, a full-stack embodied-intelligence company, has closed an angel-plus round of more than RMB 500 million, with Vertex Capital, the venture arm under Singapore’s Temasek, alongside Fangguang Capital and Wanshi Capital adding to the round. The proceeds will accelerate the firm’s data-model-embodiment loop and push its embodied products toward commercial deployment.
The company was founded in September 2025 by a team that pairs former senior executives from Huawei’s autonomous-driving unit with technical experts from the University of Hong Kong and serial entrepreneurs who have built humanoid-robot businesses before. That mix is meant to cover the full chain from research to engineering to commercialisation.
In under a year Kinetix AI has already shipped a native embodied large model, the KAI Halo Lite lightweight data-collection headband, an embodied-AI infrastructure platform, the high-anthopomorphic general-purpose humanoid KAIBot and the high-degree-of-freedom dexterous hand KAI Hand.
The KAIBot is the firm’s flagship humanoid, built for training human-like motion, real-world operations and human-robot interaction. It stands 173 centimetres, weighs 70 kilograms and carries 117 degrees of freedom across the body, with tactile skin covering 80 per cent of its surface and 18,000 high-precision sensing points that detect forces as small as 0.1 newton.
The KAI Hand mirrors a real palm at 1:1 scale with 37 degrees of freedom, including 20 active, one passive and 16 compliant joints, and delivers more than 30 newtons at the fingertip for stable long grasps. The KAI Halo Lite headband weighs just over 300 grams and fuses multi-camera vision with inertial sensing to rebuild 3D scenes and label body motion at centimetre precision, cutting the cost of field data collection.
All of this hardware and its live demos run on the self-developed KAI Embodied AI infrastructure, a platform spanning data capture, model training, simulation testing, real-machine deployment and iterative operations. KAI Hand and KAI Halo Lite are already on sale globally and have been delivered to industrial customers.
