On 2 September, the new Li Auto MEGA launched with a single MEGA Home version priced at 509,800 yuan, with deliveries starting within the week. The new model keeps a 108 kWh ternary-lithium 5C super-charging battery, front and rear dual-motor all-wheel drive and a CLTC pure-electric range of 710 kilometres. On a 5C charger, ten minutes adds about 500 kilometres of range.

Against the previous 559,800 yuan MEGA Home family special edition, the new version adds steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, an 800V active anti-roll bar, dual Mach M100 chips, four lidar units and a new smart cockpit, yet the price drops by 50,000 yuan. Against the previous entry version it is 20,000 yuan cheaper.
The only optional item across the whole car is 2.5 square metres of 270-degree electric dimming glass at 15,000 yuan, which Li Auto gives free to returning owners. The move strips the configuration list to almost nothing, betting that a single well-equipped version sells more cleanly than a ladder of trims.

The additions target exactly the weaknesses that have dogged large electric MPVs. Rear-wheel steering tightens low-speed manoeuvring in tight car parks, the active anti-roll bar steadies the tall body in corners, and the four-lidar suite feeds a more capable assisted-driving stack built around the dual Mach M100 chips. Li Auto is positioning the MEGA less as a people-carrier and more as a technology flagship for the brand.
