General-purpose humanoid robot company LimX Dynamics, headquartered in Shenzhen, has closed a near-200 million dollar Pre-IPO financing round at a post-money valuation of 15 billion yuan (about 2 billion dollars), joining the ranks of China’s super unicorns, the company said recently. It has raised 400 million dollars in total over the past six months, laying the groundwork for its next capital-market step.
The round drew top-tier global capital from China, Europe, the Middle East, North America and Southeast Asia — a vote of confidence, LimX argues, in both the long-term value of embodied AI and its own technical route, product capability and global strategy. New investors include IDG Capital, Lens Technology, Europe’s G.G.G. Group and Redstone VC, Huashan Capital, and Hefei Binhu Industrial Development Group; UAE’s Stone Venture topped up across multiple rounds, while returning backers Oriza, Cornerstone, Nanshan Venture, Shangqi Capital and NIO Capital all increased their stakes.
Founded in 2022, LimX is an AI-driven general-purpose humanoid company focused on full-size humanoids alongside multi-form robots such as TRON. Around three core pillars — body hardware design and manufacturing, brain-body fusion, and an embodied-agent OS — it aims to unlock AGI’s generalisation in the physical world across research, commercial and home settings.
The proceeds target three uses: break through brain-body fusion and accelerate productisation; push scaled deployment of thousands of fully autonomous humanoids; and deepen global market expansion, building out manufacturing and delivery across the Middle East, Europe and other parts of Asia while growing a developer ecosystem.
Technically, LimX stays full-stack self-developed across body, AI infrastructure and the embodied-agent OS, in a three-layer architecture: System 0, a whole-body motion foundation model for stable, precise motion generation; System 1, covering humanoid VLA and WAM capability, with the FluxVLA Engine as an enterprise open-source model-training platform for developers that lowers bottom-layer engineering cost; and System 2, COSA, a cognition-and-interaction OS built on large-language and world models.
Commercially, LimX has logged thousands of orders, more than half from overseas, spanning research, commercial service, all-terrain inspection, industrial and construction scenarios. Its full-size interactive humanoid LimX Luna, launched in May, was delivered to domestic and foreign customers within a month; the new multi-form TRON 2 has racked up large overseas and domestic orders since launch.
