UBTECH will build its first robot manufacturing base outside China in Almaty, Kazakhstan. During the Kazakhstan-China Investment Forum, Kazakh president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met UBTECH vice president Yong Zhong in Almaty and voiced support for the plant, which will become UBTECH’s first production base outside Chinese territory.
Under the plan, the factory will mainly serve the education and service sectors. The two sides also exchanged views on applying UBTECH technology to the Almaty City project, and on deploying robot equipment in mining, oil and gas, and large logistics facilities.
On education cooperation, the two sides discussed building a systematic partnership between UBTECH and Kazakh technical universities and colleges, and proposed a joint capability centre.
On overseas market expansion, UBTECH has recently signed customers in major markets including Europe, Japan and South Korea, securing overseas orders worth more than RMB 50 million. The ordered products include the commercial service humanoid robot Walker C1 and the hyper-realistic humanoid robot UBTECH U1.
