Ex-Huawei autonomous-driving team closes RMB 500 million-plus round for embodied AI

Kinetix AI, also known as Chaowei Dynamics, has closed a series of angel-plus rounds above RMB 500 million, led by Vertex Ventures under Temasek, with Fangguang Capital and Wanshi Capital adding funds, to speed its data-model-entity iteration and productise embodied intelligence.

Founded in September 2025, the full-stack embodied-LLM company was built by former senior Huawei autonomous-driving executives, University of Hong Kong technical experts and serial robotics entrepreneurs, giving it a closed loop of innovation, engineering and commercialisation.

In under a year it has shipped a native embodied large model, the KAI Halo Lite data-collection headset at just over 300 grams, an embodied-AI infra platform, the KAIBot humanoid and the KAI Hand dexterous hand.

KAIBot stands 173 cm, weighs 70 kg and carries 117 degrees of freedom with tactile skin covering 80 per cent of its body and 18,000 sensing points that detect forces as light as 0.1 newton, protecting close human interaction and grasping.

KAI Hand mirrors a real hand at 37 degrees of freedom, with fingertip force above 30 newtons, a stable 10-minute grip and a surface temperature that stays below body heat. Both KAIBot and KAI Halo Lite are already on sale globally and delivered to industrial clients.

All front-end hardware runs on the self-developed KAI Embodied AI Infra base, covering data collection, model training, simulation, deployment and iteration, the core guarantee for fast iteration and scaled rollout.
