OakCreek Tech raises angel rounds as humanoid makers bet on the robot OS layer

OakCreek Tech, a Beijing startup building the software foundation for humanoid robots, has closed consecutive angel and angel-plus rounds. The angel round was led by Lingyi Ventures and Cloud Angel Fund, with Linge Ventures following; the angel-plus was strategically backed by three of China’s leading humanoid-robot body makers, Songyan Dynamics, Booster Robotics and Luming Robotics, alongside returning shareholder Lingyi Ventures.

The investor roster is the story. When the companies that manufacture the physical robots choose to fund the operating system that drives them, they are placing a visible bet on where the durable value in this industry will sit. OakCreek’s core product is Oakay, a humanoid robot OS that provides unified communication and runtime management, wrapped in close to ten lightweight applications spanning whole-body motion control, custom grasping, semantic navigation, long-horizon task comprehension and multimodal decision making.

From months to days

Its commercial edge is adaptation speed. A standardised ‘plug-and-play’ package shrinks the time needed to port algorithms to a new humanoid platform from months to days, and it already runs across several bipedal and wheel-arm robot types. As humanoid hardware accelerates into mass production, the industry’s competitive centre of gravity is shifting from actuators and frames toward software and ecosystem, and vendors that can adapt across many bodies become the connective tissue of the whole sector.

Founded in June 2025, OakCreek draws a team from Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, Tsinghua and Peking University, with engineering backgrounds at Microsoft, Alibaba, Momenta and Li Auto. For investors mapping Asia’s robotics capital, the pattern is clear: the infrastructure layer, not just the headline humanoid, is where strategic money is now quietly positioning.
