A Zhejiang Factory Will Turn Out 5,000 Smart Logistics Robots a Year by 2027

A subsidiary of Lituo Intelligent Technology has broken ground on a smart logistics robot plant in Qingtian, Zhejiang province, sized to build 5,000 intelligent logistics robots a year. The 40-mu site will make automated guided vehicles, smart warehouse systems and the software that runs them, aimed squarely at the Yangtze River Delta’s manufacturers as they automate their shop floors. The plant is scheduled for completion in 2027.

A Veteran Automation Supplier Scales Into Volume Manufacturing

The project’s parent, Lituo Intelligent, was founded in August 2018 and is a national-level “little giant” in smart manufacturing and digital transformation. Its client list already reads like an industrial who’s who: Siemens, Fanuc, Yaskawa, KUKA, Hikvision, Schneider, Emerson, Geely, Great Wall, BYD, Midea and Haier. The company says its robots perform precision jobs such as nut insertion, vision-guided loading, automatic engine-head tightening and gluing, replacing manual processes on the line.

Lituo’s latent and forklift AGVs use SLAM laser navigation and are built for 24/7 operation with 360-degree safety coverage and swarm scheduling. According to the Anhui development commission, the firm’s in-mould monitoring plus end-of-line AI vision system cut product defect rates by 30 per cent, manual inspection costs by 40 per cent, delivery cycles by 20 per cent and equipment failure rates by 22 per cent.

The Market Behind the Plant

Lituo’s chairman, Yu Ruifu, is a Dalian University of Technology control-systems graduate, and the company runs a deep industry-academia programme with the university. By 2022 its revenue had passed RMB 100 million with a 14 per cent share of its niche. The bet is that smart unmanned logistics is becoming a default upgrade for factories: a QYResearch report projects the global logistics robot market will reach USD 32.02 billion by 2031, a 20.1 per cent compound annual growth rate.
