On 29 September, embodied-AI firm Nuoyin, also styled KNOWIN, announced a further angel-plus-plus funding round of several hundred million yuan, bringing its cumulative raise over the past year above RMB 1 billion.
The round was led by a JD-linked fund, with co-investors Loyal Valley Capital, Nanshan Venture Investment and Walden International. Nuoyin focuses on embodied large models and smart robots; its GLOW embodied model targets global leadership and is designed to let a robot learn actions from demonstration without writing code, then generalise across more scenarios.
Where the money goes
Nuoyin said the proceeds will go to three areas. First, accelerate data scale and broaden model capability toward higher-level general embodied intelligence. Second, strengthen body R&D and engineering, and prepare mass production of the KNOWIN-X1 product, planned for launch and production start in the first quarter of 2027. Third, keep recruiting top talent and sustain a high R&D intensity.
The company’s stated vision is to put intelligent robots into every home, moving from understanding the world to living in it, so intelligence becomes part of daily life.
For outside observers, the JD-led ticket is the telling detail. China’s embodied-AI capital is consolidating around teams that can plug real commerce, retail and logistics data into the training loop, rather than those optimising for leaderboard scores. A backer with its own warehouses and storefronts changes what ‘demo’ is allowed to mean.
