On the afternoon of August 6, nearly 100 industrial inspection robots were delivered at the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, the largest single such delivery in Central China’s robotics sector to date. The robots were developed and built by Chengxin Zhilian (Wuhan), and the first 30 ‘Xun 1’ quadrupeds will take up public-security patrols in Wuhan, Shanghai and Wuxi. Priced above 100,000 yuan each, they navigate autonomously to assigned points after receiving cloud tasks, locate with millimetre precision, and intelligently detect gas, temperature, humidity and fallen-person hazards in the environment.
Alongside the delivery, Chengxin launched the industrial-focused Xun 3. Compared with Xun 1, it gains sharply on endurance, climbing and autonomy, carrying a 32-line LiDAR, climbing 25 steps, crawling stable on 35-degree slopes, running four hours instead of one, walking about 20 km, and able to intervene by pressing buttons once it spots risk.
A component base underneath the robots
Founded in 2022, Chengxin builds its own high-precision inertial-navigation modules so its robots locate accurately even where satellite signals vanish, and it now runs China’s largest MEMS IMU line at 2.6 million units a year, with its navigation modules already inside the supply chains of Geely and SAIC. On whole robots, monthly capacity exceeds 100 units and orders are booked into the fourth quarter.
The company also released a ‘full-space unmanned system’ smart-park plan where inspection robots split tasks and work together, drones and robot dogs coordinate air and ground, and a cloud platform handles anomalies and raises work orders with no human in the loop. For European security, utility and infrastructure operators, the takeaway is that Chinese inspection quadrupeds have moved past prototypes into batch delivery with serious sensor stacks and a domestic component base.
